Abbotsford Chrysler Supports “Ride2Survive!”Jun 22nd, 2013
Abbotsford Chrysler is once again supporting the Ride2Survive event. This event is a volunteer organized, one-day cycling event from Kelowna to Delta, pedaling 400 km, climbing 12,000 ft, Cycling to Beat Cancer! The Ride2Survive is now Canada’s Largest single day fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society. We are excited again this year to be to a proud supporter and have provided 2 vehicles to use for riders and the support team to travel in.
What is special about this event is that the volunteers and participants involved to make this event a success is that each of them personally donate their time and cover their own expenses and 0% of donations are used to fund the society or support the event. Donations are not used to buy t-shirts or water or food or gas. By designating the funds raised, 100% of your donations go to the area of research chosen by our riders and crew. That means that the Canadian Cancer Society does not take any administrative costs out of your donation to the Ride2survive.
Last year this event contributed over $450,000 raised by 85 riders, again all proceeds to Cancer Research.
This year the ride is taking place on Sat. June 22nd – click here for further information on the race.
If you would like to donate, one of the representatives coordinating the event and friend of the group is Charles Reynolds. Please click here. Part of Charles tradition on the ride is that he writes all the names for who the donations have been made for, this and passed years on his legs as reminder of why he is doing this. Charles has been involved with this ride for the past 6 years.
