The 2013 Ram 1500 has been given the“Truck of Texas” award at the 20th annual Texas Auto Writers Association’s Texas Truck Rodeo. It also has a redesigned interior, class-exclusive advanced technologies, a brand new powertrain, new 3.6L engine option and best-in-class fuel economy.
The outer appearance of the 2013 Ram 1500 is stunning from rear to front, roof to wheels. It also has a little bit of a different look. It now sports new front grilles, premium projector headlamps, LED taillamps and new wheel options.
The cabin of the 2013 Ram 1500 now offers adjustable sapphire blue ambient lighting, model-specific centre stack designs and a new available 7-inch Multiview Thin Film Transistor display within the new six gauge instrument cluster.
Class leading performance is found in the 2013 Ram 1500. New for 2013 is an all-new 8-speed TorqueFlite 8 automatic transmission. This is the first time this transmission has been in a pickup. It utilizes 40 different shift maps to provide optimal shifting. Also new is a transmission Thermal Management System. This system quickly warms up the transmission fluid and allows it to operate at high temperatures for improved performance and greater fuel efficiency.
